Now Yamaha in the e-scooter market, 169 km on one charge, do you know the price?

Yamaha has made a big splash in the electric scooter market in India. The Japanese company has launched its first electric scooter ‘EC-06’ in the country. This is a major step by the company towards eco-friendly transportation. The scooter will initially be available in select cities through premium ‘Blue Square’ dealerships.

The price of this new scooter of Yamaha has been kept at 1 lakh 67 thousand 600 taka (ex-showroom). It is based on the framework of River Indy. This scooter, made keeping in mind the urban customers of India, has been launched in ‘Bluish White’ color for the time being.

The scooter has a fixed battery of 4 kilowatt hours (kWh). Added to this is the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor. A maximum power of 6.7 kW and a torque of 26 Nm can be obtained from this motor. The scooter can travel up to 169 km on a single charge. Its maximum speed is 79 km per hour. The battery can be charged using a normal home plug. It takes about eight hours to fully charge.

It has three riding modes—Eco, Standard and Power—for the convenience of the driver. Apart from this, reverse mode is provided for parking in narrow spaces. For safety, the scooter has 200mm disc brakes and Combi Brake System (CBS) on both wheels. Telescopic forks at the front and coil spring suspension at the rear will ensure a comfortable ride on bumpy roads.

Modern features include color LCD display. Where information regarding speed, battery charge and connectivity can be seen. There are powerful LED lights at the front and back. Yamaha EC-06 will compete with popular scooters like River Indy, Ather 450X and Ola S1 Pro in the market.
