If I were a fly on the wall at the Palace, I reckon I would have heard a lot of irritated sighs this weekend. Just days ago, a new batch of Epstein files were released and, of course, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor featured. As well as email conversations between Andrew and Epstein, photographs of the former prince were also made public. And they were enough to make you cringe.
In a few photographs, Andrew appears to be on all fours, leaning beside a fully dressed woman lying on the floor. While no date or context is given, other photographs show Andrew resting a hand on the unknown woman's stomach. Not only is this embarrassing for Andrew, and proved that the King was right in stripping his titles and evicting him from Royal Lodge, but it is also embarrassing for the Royal Family.
While King Charles has already acted against Andrew following previous scandals that made headlines, some may wonder what else the monarch can do about his disgraced brother.
And I think there is only one thing left that he can do. Get Andrew to testify in the US.
Although Andrew denies all accusations against him and wrongdoing, this does not mean he shouldn't go to the US and give every piece of evidence he knows about Epstein from their time as friends.
Andrew was invited just months ago to do this by the committee in the US, but he did not respond to the request. Why? Who knows.
But maybe if the King urges him to, he will. And maybe seeing as the King is paying out of his own pocket to house Andrew on the Sandringham Estate, it will be more important for Andrew to agree.
Surely it is the least he could do.
