Almost all parents have a degree of anxiety about their children’s welfare due to the rise of social media. But, for Peter Andre, who shares his two oldest children with reality TV regular Katie Price, those fears are inevitably much greater.
Peter’s son Junior is now 20, while daughter Princess is 18. Princess, in particular, is very active on social media. She makes regular posts to Instagram, keeping her followers informed about what she’s up to, and posting clothing brand collaborations. She has also appeared in her own ITV2 reality series, The Princess Diaries.
But Peter says when he first started using social media, he didn’t realise the potential risks involved: “We didn't know any of the dangers of it, “ he told Westlife singer Nicky Byrne on his podcast. “We've learned a lot. What I do, I am protective of her, of course, and of everything that's going on.”

He adds that he has one simple piece of advice for Princess and Junior: “I think one of the things I learned, and I've said to her, and I've said to Junior as well … if even the slightest negative thing is being said, don't even read the whole thing, do not read it.
“If you see the word ugly or anything,” he said, “whatever it is, block that person.”
Peter, who also has three younger children with wife Emily MacDonagh, says his concerns are only deepening in the age of Artificial Intelligence: “Where I'm really scared is... the younger children, because now we've got AI.”
Peter, who takes great care to prevent images of Amelia, Theo and Arabella’s faces appearing online, said that the emergence of AI image editing meant that using social media has become “a whole different ball game” for modern parents.
“The things AI can do with the image of a child or is very different to what we knew,” he said “so it's a much scarier time.”
He added: “I’m, in a way, grateful that Princess has grown up now, but she's still 18, she's still my baby, and I still look at her as my baby.”
Meanwhile, Princess has not yet commented directly on her mother’s whirlwind romance with Dubai-based entrepreneur Lee Andrews.
Katie Price claims to have “married” Andrews, even as his carefully-curated online persona appears to be unravelling. Social media images of him with celebrities such as Kim Kardashian appeared to have been manipulated using AI, and Princess reportedly had not even heard of Andrews before her mum's Dubai “wedding.”
The situation is only made more confusing by the fact that Katie had only confirmed her split from JJ Slater less than two weeks before her announcement about Andrews. A source has claimed to The Mirror that Princess was “heartbroken” by the news.
While Princess has not spoken publicly about the situation, she has posted two videos to her TikTok account that could hint at her feelings.
One featuring a tearful girl doing her makeup. The text accompanying the clip reads: "I feel everything very deeply” while a voiceover states: "I'm such an incredibly, stupidly, sensitive person that everything that happens to me I feel everything really intensely."
Another TikTok repost from Princess features a teen girl getting into bed and wiping tears from her eyes as she lets out a sigh. The writing on top reads: "When the smallest thing upsets me and now I have to be non-verbal and easily irritated for hours until I can let it go".
