Nirmala Sitharaman On Russian Oil: While on one hand the government is calling the India-US trade deal a big achievement, the opposition has called it a compromise with farmers and the country. In an interview with a news channel, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has answered all the questions to this. When he was asked whether if India will not buy oil from Russia, then petrol and diesel will become expensive in our country?

In response, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not do anything against the interest of this country. I am not giving a direct answer to this. I will have full faith in PM Modi that whatever he does, he will do it in the interest of the country.

Inflation is completely under control in the country

Speaking on the Union Budget 2026, the Finance Minister said that whatever budget we give is fully utilized. The government has presented the future budget. We have planned for 25 years. During the interview he said that the expenditure depends on the capacity of each state. Last year’s benefit on income tax is being availed this year. Inflation is under control in our country.

Banking situation in India is strong

Nirmala Sitharaman said that the condition of banking in India is strong. Participation of the people of the country is necessary in every scheme. The objective of the government is to increase small scale industries. Self-reliance is our priority. The Finance Minister said that jobs will be available in the Rare Earth Corridor. Our government took many strong decisions for MSMEs. There are 7 such sectors which have an important role in making India self-reliant.

‘The economic growth of the country is quite good’

Talking about the Indian economy, the Finance Minister said that our economy is very strong at the moment. IMF, World Bank said that India’s growth is very good. How should I give income tax exemption again before we can avail the benefits of the exemption given last year in income tax this year? If I increase each person’s income from Rs 7.76 lakh to Rs 8 lakh, then you can say increase it to 9 or 10. After giving so much exemption of Rs 4 lakh, how can I give exemption in income tax this year also?

Finance Minister’s statement on India-US trade deal

On the statement of US Agriculture Minister Brook Rollins Nirmala Sitharaman Said that the final signing regarding the trade has not been done yet, it will be known exactly when it happens. Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal made it clear that the interests of agriculture and dairy sector will be protected. Our minister made this statement clear in the Parliament. The rest will happen after the final agreement.
