The Punjab government has unveiled a special anthem to mark the upcoming Basant festival in Lahore. The three-day celebrations are set to begin on February 6.

Titled Phir Aai Basant (Basant is Back), the song has been launched by the Punjab Information and Culture Department and shared via Alhamra Lahore’s official Instagram account. The anthem is part of preparations for what the government has called Punjab’s most-awaited cultural festival.

The song is performed and composed by popular singer Bilal Saeed. The music video features model and actor Nabeel Zubairi, alongside food blogger Ali Rehman, and was filmed in Lahore’s historic sites, including the old city streets and the famous picture wall of Lahore Fort.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced that a Basant event will be held at Liberty Chowk on February 7. Additionally, the provincial administration has declared a public holiday on February 6 and 7 to allow citizens to participate in the festivities.

Preparations across Lahore have reached their peak, with the city adorned in vibrant colours and a giant kite installed at Liberty Chowk as part of the celebrations.

The Punjab cabinet has also permitted the manufacturing of kite-flying materials in Lahore and four other districts. Authorities have assured the public that stringent safety and security measures will be implemented to ensure a safe and enjoyable festival.
