A massive fire broke out in a market in Iran’s capital Tehran, causing panic.

Tehran. Big news has come from Iran’s capital Tehran. On Tuesday, a massive fire broke out in a market located in Jannat Abaad, western part of Tehran. The cause of the fire is not yet known, but as soon as the fire was reported, rescue operations were started immediately. Several fire brigade teams have been sent to the spot and efforts are underway to extinguish the fire.

Flames and black smoke created panic.
Tehran’s emergency services official Mohammad Behnia said that so far there have been no reports of deaths or injuries in the incident. However, the fire was so fierce that its flames and thick clouds of black smoke were clearly visible from many parts of the city. The fire broke out in a shopping center in the Jannat Abad area, which was filled with hundreds of shops and small stalls.

The fire broke out around 10 a.m. in a large market in the Jannat Abad Shomali area. Both vendors and customers were present. As the fire spread, people there panicked and ran around. The fire department was immediately notified and is currently at the scene and trying to extinguish the blaze.

After the incident, firefighters reported that the fire was spreading rapidly and upon arriving at the scene, they immediately began attempting to control the blaze from multiple directions. According to state media reports, fire teams arrived at the scene and began firefighting operations from multiple fronts.

media show thick black smoke and towering flames rising from the market. Nearby residential and commercial areas are in a state of panic. The scene is terrifying for Tehran residents.

Relief work continues, situation under control
While no major casualties have been reported so far, relief work is underway and firefighters are working day and night to control the fire. Officials say that efforts will be made to bring the situation under control soon. They further said that exact information about the number of injured or possible deaths in the incident is not available yet and additional information will be released later. Officials said that the main focus is on preventing the fire from spreading to nearby buildings and residential areas.
