It has been made clear in the Economic Survey 2025-26 of the Government of India that AI (Artificial Intelligence) will not be able to take away jobs on a large scale in India. According to the survey, AI will help in increasing the efficiency of humans and only some repetitive tasks will come under the scope of automation. Human experience and understanding will remain important in health, education, creative and technical fields.
Artificial Intelligence and employment: The Government of India has clarified in the Economic Survey 2025-26 that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will not impact the jobs of the youth in a big way. According to this report presented in Parliament, AI will increase the productivity of humans instead of replacing them. According to this survey prepared in Delhi, some routine tasks may come under the scope of automation, but in health, education, creative and hands-on sectors, the need for human judgment and experience will remain. This report gives a message to the youth to convert technological change into opportunity.
AI will not affect employment
The Economic Survey 2025-26 of the Government of India has made it clear that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will not eliminate jobs on a large scale in India. The survey says that AI will increase the efficiency of humans instead of replacing them. Although some repetitive routine tasks may fall under the scope of automation, human understanding and experience will still be required in health, education, creative and hands-on sectors.
New opportunities and skill development
According to the survey, to take advantage of the demographic dividend, India will have to create about 80 lakh new jobs every year. For this, it is important to emphasize not just on degree but on skill development, upskilling and re-skilling. Youth can turn AI into an opportunity for their careers rather than a threat by adopting new technologies over time.
Limitations of AI and importance of humanity
AI will be limited in many areas. Work like health and care sector, children’s education, mentoring, plumbing, electrical work, construction and creative leadership will be completely dependent on human intervention. In areas like food, artisan work and creating new ideas, human thinking and experience are the keys to success.
