Health Tips: Indian thali is considered incomplete without rice. Be it Rajma-rice of North India or Dosa of South India, rice is the center of our diet. Mainly two types of rice are discussed in the market, white rice and brown rice. Let us know which of these is better for your health.
processing game
The biggest difference between white and brown rice is their processing. Brown rice is completely unpolished with the nutritious upper layers of the rice intact. White rice is refined and polished to remove its husk and bran. In this process, rice becomes white and soft but its important nutrients are destroyed.
brown rice
Brown rice has always been kept on top from health point of view because it is rich in fiber, magnesium, phosphorus and vitamin B.
Diabetes and weight loss
Its fiber prevents sudden increase in blood sugar, making it a boon for diabetic patients. Also, it keeps the stomach full for a long time which helps in weight loss.

cardiovascular health
It is also helpful in controlling cholesterol level.
White Rice: When is it beneficial?
It would be wrong to call white rice a complete villain. It is very light and gets digested quickly. This is a good option for people who have weak digestive power or who need instant energy. Athletes often choose it to replenish energy after a workout.
Caution
Brown rice may also have some side effects. It contains phytates which can slow down the absorption of minerals like calcium and iron in the body. Also, the excess fiber in brown rice may bother those who often have problems with gas, acidity or constipation.
If you lead an active life and want to lose weight then brown rice is better. But if you have delicate digestion or you prefer taste, then eat white rice mixed with lentils and lots of vegetables to increase its nutrition.
