Attack on former TMC MLA Humayun Kabir in Kolkata, serious allegations against 25-30 people

The politics of West Bengal has once again heated up over allegations of violence. There has been news of alleged attack on former Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA and Jan Unnayan Party chief Humayun Kabir in Kolkata. Humayun Kabir has claimed that he was suddenly attacked by 25 to 30 people and during this time slogans were also raised to threaten him.

Attack occurred while returning from Shab-e-Baraat

According to Humayun Kabir, this incident happened on the occasion of Shab-e-Baraat. He had gone to attend a party at a friend’s house, where he was returning after meeting and talking to people. Meanwhile, his vehicle was surrounded and attacked on the road between ward numbers 77 and 78.

Allegations of attack on vehicle and sloganeering

The former MLA says that the attackers attacked his car and raised slogans against him like ‘BJP’s traitor’. According to Humayun Kabir, this attack was completely planned and the attackers were connected to some people active at the local level. He alleged that these people are associated with Bobby Hakim.

‘I am not afraid’- Humayun Kabir

After the attack, Humayun Kabir clearly said that he is not afraid of this incident. He said,
‘I am not afraid of anyone. These people are goons and the work of goons is to commit hooliganism. That’s what they are doing.

Answer given on being called ‘traitor’

When he was asked why he was called a ‘traitor of BJP’ even if he was not in BJP, he called it the mentality of the attackers. Humayun Kabir said that such people raise slogans without logic and have nothing to do with truth.

Security personnel saved lives

Humayun Kabir also told that the security personnel present with him tried their best to handle the situation and provided as much security as possible. Because of him a big loss could be avoided.

‘I am only afraid of God’

Feeling emotional about the incident, Humayun Kabir said, “I am only afraid of God. Death is bound to happen one day, where it will happen will be decided by God.”
