Imran Khan son visa denial allegation: Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has been in jail for the last 914 days and his family is not being allowed to meet him. His sons have alleged that the Shehbaz Sharif government is deliberately blocking their visa applications. Qasim and Suleiman are currently living with their mother Jemima Goldsmith in London and are desperate to meet their father. Amid reports of serious decline in Imran Khan’s health, his sons have now appealed to international human rights organizations for intervention.

914 days wait

The sons of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who have been jailed in Pakistan for more than two years, have made serious allegations against the Shehbaz Sharif government. Qasim Khan says his father has been kept in solitary confinement for 914 days and is being prevented from meeting his family. The government is deliberately delaying the visa process of him and his brother Suleman so that they cannot reach Pakistan to meet their ailing father.

Concern over declining health

There is great concern about the health of Imran Khan among his family and supporters as his health is continuously deteriorating. Qasim told on social media that his father was being completely deprived of even basic medical care and proper treatment. He called it a cruel punishment that children are being deliberately kept away from their fundamental right to visit their ailing father.

Appeal to the international community

Qasim Khan has now made an emotional appeal to international human rights organizations and various governments to immediately intervene in this humanitarian matter. Global powers should raise their voice against the action of the Pakistan government before any huge damage is done, he wrote. He believes that solitary confinement and denial of necessary treatment are gross violations of human rights that must be stopped through global pressure.

Dispute over taking to hospital

Recently, after Imran Khan’s health deteriorated, he was secretly taken to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences i.e. PIMS. His party PTI has strongly condemned the secret transfer as the authorities did not inform the family and the party. PTI alleges that he is not being given access to his personal doctors which is a threat to the former Prime Minister’s security.

difficult conditions in prison

Many questions have already been raised regarding the facilities provided to Imran Khan in jail, which his party has been raising again and again. Qasim clarified that keeping his father completely cut off from the outside world and family for 914 days was the height of inhuman treatment. Now it remains to be seen whether the Government of Pakistan grants visas to their sons after international pressure and appeal for human rights.

diplomatic pressure needed

Considering the current political situation of Pakistan, getting visas for Imran Khan’s sons seems to be a challenging task at present. Human rights activists say that family meetings are a fundamental right of any prisoner which should not be taken away by the government under any circumstances. If the delay in the visa process continues, this issue may escalate even more at the diplomatic level in the coming days.
