Apple is preparing to deepen its retail footprint in India, with Hyderabad emerging as the company’s next physical store location. Job listings on Apple’s careers portal reveal openings for roles like Store Leader, Senior Manager and Genius in the city, signalling Apple’s next brick-and-mortar move.
Apple typically begins hiring close to a year before a store officially opens, which suggests the Hyderabad outlet could go live sometime in early 2027. This comes even as the company is expected to launch another store in Mumbai sometime this year.
The development follows Apple’s Noida store opening in December, marking another step in Apple’s steady retail expansion across key Indian cities.
At Apple’s Bangalore store launch, we spoke with the company, where Apple made it clear that retail experience is a major priority in India. The focus isn’t just on selling devices, but on building deeper customer engagement through in-store support, personalised setup, and community-driven experiences.
It’s worth noting that ET has already covered Apple’s retail journey on the ground, with dedicated video reports from both the Bangalore and Noida store launches.
Apple entered India’s physical retail space in 2023 with flagship stores in Mumbai and Delhi, after launching its online store in 2020. Since then, it has added locations in Bengaluru, Pune and Noida, expanding into major urban markets. India has also been an early rollout market for several exclusive Apple retail initiatives, including Shop with a Specialist over Video, along with in-store services like Personal Setup, Trade In, data transfer support and Today at Apple sessions.
The retail push aligns with Apple’s broader momentum in India. The company saw strong year-on-year shipment growth in 2025, with the iPhone 16 emerging as the top-shipped smartphone model in the country. Apple CEO Tim Cook has repeatedly called India a major growth engine, highlighting record quarterly revenue driven by iPhone, Mac, iPad and services, while also noting that a majority of buyers in India are first-time Apple customers.
With Hyderabad now likely joining Apple’s retail map and Mumbai set to add another landmark store, Apple’s India expansion story looks firmly on track.
