Shikhil Beowhar, Bhopal. The controversy has now intensified regarding the title of actor Manoj Bajpayee’s upcoming web series ‘Ghooskhor Pandit’ to be released on Netflix. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has taken cognizance of this matter and started action.

NHRC member Priyank Kanungo wrote on Twitter – I have received a complaint from GemsOfBollywood that the Netflix India OTT platform is planning to air a program named “Ghooshkhor Pandit”. Such titles and programs target caste and community and go beyond criticism and ridicule and embarrass the community. It increases animosity in the society and is a type of psychological violence, which threatens to disturb public order and endanger human life. Therefore, taking cognizance, a notice is being issued to the concerned department.

Let us tell you that in this web series, actor Manoj Bajpayee is playing the role of a corrupt police officer, but the Brahmin community and many organizations have expressed strong objection to the title ‘Ghushkhor Pandit’. He says that it insults the entire community by associating it with corruption and harms social harmony. At the same time, the politics of the state has also heated up regarding this series, BJP and Congress have come face to face.
