Social media went berserk after rumours surfaced that Bollywood actor Disha Patani is allegedly dating Punjabi singer Talwiinder. The rumours surfaced when a video of the two getting cosy at Kriti Sanon’s sister Nupur Sanon’s wedding went viral. Apart from the dating rumours, Talwiinder’s face was also revealed, which he had kept covered with paint until now. The rumoured couple also dodged the paparazzi during Nupur–Stebin’s wedding festivities.
The speculation only intensified later when Disha and Talwiinder were spotted walking out hand in hand from Lollapalooza, leaving fans convinced that things had been made official. Ever since, the nation has been curious to know whether Disha and Talwiinder are actually dating.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Talwiinder finally addressed the rumours surrounding him and Disha, and also spoke about whether marriage is on the cards.
Speaking about his rumoured girlfriend, he said, “I mean, we just got to know each other right before the wedding. And then all of this attention kind of caught us off guard, both of us. For us, we don’t want to give in to the pressure or the rumours. That is what it is. We’re still discovering ourselves, we’re still figuring ourselves out. And I’ll just leave it at that, because if they’re going to spread rumours, I’m going to let the rumours be rumours.”
When asked his views on love and relationships, he replied, “I fall in love every day, I am falling in love right now.”
During the conversation, Talwiinder also opened up about his Bollywood ambitions. He shared, “Yeah, definitely. I grew up on Bollywood movies and Bollywood music was huge for me from 2013 to 2017–2018, because at that time it was just me and the music. I couldn’t talk to people, so bas music hi hai. I’m a huge, huge fan of Mohit Chauhan, KK, Kailash Kher and Arijit Singh. These guys are also the reason for my music taste. I definitely love Bollywood, but it’s not the end goal for me, or something I’m chasing. I make music, movies need music. When it works out, it works out. When it doesn’t, I don’t take it to heart.”
Heartbroken after his face was revealed
During the same conversation, Talwiinder opened up about the viral clip of his unmasked face and expressed, “It was never about that ‘I am never going to show my face’, I am not playing hide and seek with the world. It was just like ‘Leave me alone, just focus on what I am giving to you’. That’s the public property, this is not. So, when that video came out, I saw that and it spread like wildfire.”
He continued, “People were messaging me asking about what’s going on. Honestly, I don’t get why people act like I haven’t seen the video. 500 people sent me that video. On top of that, you see people making content on it just to get some views. That shows their true colours as well. Just for some views, likes, you are really going to use this content to get another piece on. Even for the person that gave the video to the media, for what? For Rs 5000, Rs 10000, Rs 50,000?”
Disha Patani earlier dated Tiger Shroff for several years, and many believed the two would eventually get married. However, reports in 2022 suggested that the Baaghi 2 co-stars had parted ways. Despite the breakup, they are said to remain cordial, and Disha continues to share a close bond with Tiger’s sister, Krishna Shroff.
