This action was taken regarding the objectionable comment made on the social media page of former mayor of Prayagraj and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Abhilasha Gupta Nandi.

According to the information received, objectionable and threatening words were used on social media against Uttar Pradesh Government Cabinet Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi. In this matter, former mayor’s media advisor Poonam Aggarwal filed a complaint in the police station and demanded legal action against the youth concerned.

It was told in the complaint that former mayor Abhilasha Gupta Nandi is known as a hard-working, diligent and dedicated public servant. Social media is a powerful medium in making their social and public activities reach the common people. Currently, he has around 3 lakh 57 thousand followers on his Facebook page, while he also has lakhs of followers on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).

According to the complaint, for the last two-three days, extremely objectionable and fear-inducing comments were being made in the comment section of his various posts from a Facebook ID named “Shailesh Srivastava”. The remarks allegedly used objectionable language and threats against Minister Nandy, which caused mental trauma. It is also mentioned in the complaint that in the year 2010, there was a fatal attack on Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi with an RDX remote bomb, in which a senior journalist and a civilian gunner died.

The trial of that case is currently in the final stages. Considering such comments made at such a sensitive time as part of a deep conspiracy, an impartial investigation and strict action has been demanded. On the basis of the complaint, the police have registered the case and started investigation.
