The Supreme Court said in its order that getting dearness allowance is the legal right of the employees, not any additional benefit or government donation.
Employees will get benefits till March 6!
The court has ordered the state government to deposit at least 25% of the outstanding amount in the accounts of the employees by March 6. The court has made it clear that it is the responsibility of the welfare state to protect its employees from the ill effects of rising prices. This decision is a big victory for thousands of employees who were fighting for their rights from Kolkata High Court to Supreme Court for the last several years.
Open treasury for civic volunteers
