Among these, the name of Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap also came into discussion, due to which there was a sensation on social media. However, Anurag has completely rejected these claims.

How did the name come to light?

Some old emails have surfaced in the Epstein files. There is mention of a ‘Bollywood man’ and a ‘famous Bollywood director’. The email said the man was scheduled to attend an Epstein- event in Beijing in 2017.

This name went viral on social media by linking it to Anurag Kashyap, but these documents are unconfirmed and there is no direct allegation or evidence in them. The names are mentioned in only one email, which talks about potential guests for an event.

Anurag Kashyap’s clarification

While talking to the media, Anurag Kashyap clearly denied this. He said, "I don’t have any information about this. I get around 15 invitations every month as a speaker. I don’t even answer most of them and the biggest thing is that I have never been to Beijing in my entire life." 

He further said that these documents look like some random email. Clickbait news in his name becomes more famous than his films. Anurag called these rumors baseless.

The Epstein Files is a collection of documents, emails, and testimony from American sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Many big names like Bill Gates have come among them. These files mention people’s contacts or participation in events, but their names do not prove any wrongdoing. Many names have come up only in conversation, without any concrete evidence. So far no official allegations have been made against any Indian. These are mostly based on rumors and speculations.
