Madison Beer blames social media for her mental health

In a recent move, Madison Beer has opened up about her relationship with social media.

After previously being transparent about social media’s toll on her mental health, the 26-year-old singer has once again opened up about her relationship with the internet.

During her chat with The Hollywood Reporter on February 5, the Make You Mine hitmaker shared how social media makes her feel “anxious.”

“My relationship with social media is really poor,” she stated. “I feel like I’m constantly anxious and feeling like I want to delete all my social media.”

She also shared how she struggles with being present on social media, saying, “I don’t want to participate in any of that stuff anymore. Then I’ll go on TikTok, and I’ll see someone post a video crying about how much they love me and how excited they are for my tour.”

“Okay, obviously this is what I would love to only ever see, positive, nice things like that,” Madison added.

Continuing, “The reality is that’s not the truth, and I will always see a video that’s a hate video or some nasty tweet or whatever it is.”

Although Madison has more than 40 million Instagram followers and 21 million on TikTok, she admitted finding it unfair that she can’t experience social media the same way other women of her age do.

“Most girls my age are on TikTok and able to scroll and (have) it not be an issue,” she noted. “I have to sit and be worried that I’m going to see a f****** mean video about myself. Obviously, it’s not the biggest issue in the world, but it still is something that’s hard, and it’s upsetting.”
