Music superstar Snoop Dogg left Team GB mixed doubles curling team Bruce Mouat and Jen Dodds shocked when he asked for a picture with them after their group stage clash against Sweden. The British team made it four wins out of four with a comfortable 7-4 win over their rivals to make it a perfect start to the Winter Olympic Games in Milano-Cortina.
Speaking to BBC Sport after the clash, the British curlers were asked if they knew that Snoop Dogg was watching on in the crowd, with the starstruck pair going on to reveal that they spoke to him and had pictures taken.
Mouat said: "We saw him at half time and saw he was sitting next to Cory's (Team USA's Cory Thiesse) mum.
"And he just asked for a photo with us, so you know, I'm feeling pretty good about myself right now!"
When asked if he turned him down, Dodds said: "No absolutely not!" Mouat added: "We went back. Of course, we turned around."
The duo then asked what was said to them, with Dodds replying: "He heard about Bruce!" Mouat then said: "I don't know what that means, but pretty cool!"
The music icon is in Northern Italy as an NBC correspondent and an "Honorary Coach," according to a statement from the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC). Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, was also a torchbearer during the 2026 Olympic Torch Relay and previously went viral for his commentary during the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
The American rap icon is embracing his official role as Team USA's first-ever honorary coach and has already clocked up millions of views after sharing a video of himself whizzing down a snowy slope on a small sledge this week.
Team GB, meanwhile, are back in action again this afternoon as they look to continue their 100 per cent record. They take on South Korea in their latest group stage game at 1.35pm on Friday.
They then take on Canada (9.05am) and the USA (1.35pm) on Saturday as the event continues. Giving their reaction to the win over Sweden, Dodds outlined the importance of the quick start, which saw them take a four-point lead from the opening two ends.
"We knew we were going to need a sharp start this morning against them. I think they were World Champions two years ago, so very tough opponents," she said. "But we kind of put them under a bit of pressure early on and got that four-point lead and just kind of controlled the game from there."
She added: "This is better than four years ago, I can't remember what our standing were at that point, but very happy with the position we are in and we'll be back on the ice soon to try and get another win."
