India vs England U19 World Cup 2026 Final: Many times in the history of cricket, a little advice has changed the principles. Something similar was seen recently before the U-19 World Cup final. Talented 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi stunned everyone by scoring 175 runs in 80 balls against England, which was followed by a challenging message and technical advice from his coach Manish Ojha.
Coach’s Inspirational Taunt
Vaibhav had scored 68 runs in the semi-final against Afghanistan. On this, instead of congratulating him, coach Ojha sent a complaining WhatsApp message. He wrote, “This is your first tournament in which you don’t have a single century. Get set in the last match, and then don’t come back from there.” This message touched Vaibhav’s morale. What happened on the Harare ground on Friday became a new chapter in the history of cricket. He scored the second fastest century of the World Cup in 15 sixes, 15 fours and only 55 balls.
Manish Ojha: An inspirational coach
- Manish Ojha is a former Ranji Trophy player.
- The youth of Bihar are playing an important role in developing cricket players.
- Vaibhav is working as Suryavanshi’s mentor and technical coach.
- After leaving cricket career, he completely devoted himself to coaching.
Beginning of coaching career
Manish Ojha’s own cricket career has been quite strong. He contributed to the Ranji Trophy for Bihar team and left his mark in domestic cricket. After leaving cricket, he made his way into coaching and focused on youth development.
Travel with Vaibhav Suryavanshi
When Vaibhav Suryavanshi was 9 years old, he joined the Cricket Academy. Since then he attracted the attention of many coaches. But, Manish Ojha took up the responsibility of improving his technique.
pull shot challenge
Coach Ojha told that Vaibhav was facing some difficulties with the pull shot. He noticed that his head was tilting back on short balls outside the off-stump, increasing the risk of being caught.
coach’s advice
Ojha advised him to keep his head straight and lean slightly towards the ball, so that his hands could open completely and bring power into the shot. Vaibhav implemented this technique brilliantly in the final and troubled the England bowlers.
Hero on the field, still a child outside
Vaibhav, who played in IPL, Ranji and Vijay Hazare Trophy at such a young age, has spent hardly a week at his home in the last one year. His family has often traveled with him to domestic matches to keep him away from the limelight.
Coach’s feelings
Coach Ojha said emotionally, “Vaibhav is a unique talent, whom I never scolded. He practices once twice, but ultimately he is only a 14-year-old kid.” These innings of glory are not just a pile of runs but the story of a child becoming a world class athlete.
