Wrexham forked out around £5million during the winter transfer window, bringing in three new signings. Monday's transfer deadline day saw the Red Dragons make two late additions.
Barnsley forward Davis Keillor-Dunn arrived for a reported £2.5m, whilst Sheffield Wednesday striker Bailey Cadamarteri joined in a £1m deal. The Welsh club, owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac, also secured Bristol City centre-back Zak Vyner for a fee of £1.5m on Sunday.
The closure of the window marked the end of a hectic period for boss Phil Parkinson, though further additions remain possible. The Championship play-off chasers confirmed on Thursday they have registered 23 players for the remainder of the current campaign, leaving room for two potential free agent signings.
There were some notable absences from the squad list, including goalkeeper Callum Burton, who is currently third in the pecking order behind Arthur Okonkwo and Danny Ward. Centre-back Lewis Brunt, who is recovering from a groin injury, has also been left out for the time being, along with utility player Tom O'Connor, who is sidelined with a long-term hamstring problem.

Here, Mirror Football examines some of the players who remain unattached and could be valuable additions for Wrexham following the closure of the transfer window.

Aaron RamseyWelsh legend Aaron Ramsey, who once earned a reported £400,000 during a lucrative spell at Juventus, is currently unattached after his Mexican adventure with Pumas ended abruptly in October. Following a personal crisis and recurring fitness issues, the former Arsenal midfielder is weighing up one final dance in professional football.
Even at 35, Ramsey still possesses a level of ability that most Championship sides would struggle to handle and could be a tempting prospect for Wrexham. While his injury record is a concern, a short-term "pay-as-you-play" deal to lead a Welsh club into the Premier League is the kind of romantic narrative the owners live for.
Jesse LingardJesse Lingard is another big name free agent after mutually terminating his contract with FC Seoul in December. The 33-year-old former Manchester United ace is said to have attracted interest from clubs in England, Italy and the Netherlands.
Lingard could be a match made in heaven for Wrexham, bringing Premier League pedigree and energy aplenty in the final third. However, it remains to be seen if Wrexham would be able to compete financially with offers from teams in the Premier League and Serie A, making any potential move doubtful.
Raheem SterlingRaheem Sterling became a free agent last week after leaving Chelsea by mutual consent. The 31-year-old spent last season on loan at Arsenal but hasn't played a competitive minute since May 2024.
Adding a four-time Premier League winner would be the biggest transfer in EFL history. However, despite ex-pros like Wes Brown urging him to "rekindle his passion" at Wrexham, Sterling's wage demands and desire for top-tier football make this a long shot.
Ryan KentRyan Kent is officially on the market after his contract option with MLS side Seattle Sounders wasn't triggered for 2026. After a nomadic few years in Turkey and the US, the former Rangers man is looking for a way back into the English system.
For a team needing depth in the wing-back positions, Kent could be a no-brainer for Wrexham. The 29-year-old has experienced of playing in the Championship with Barnsley and Bristol City earlier in his career, which could come in very handy.
Timothy Fosu-MensahFormer Manchester United and Bayer Leverkusen man Timothy Fosu-Mensah has been without a club since July 2024. After a nightmare run of injuries in Germany, he's been training privately and was recently linked with Sheffield Wednesday.
Fosu-Mensah's ability to play at right-back, wing-back, or centre-back could make him the ultimate utility man for Wrexham. The only caveat is that he would need regular minutes to prove he's past his injury woes.
