Vaibhav’s father Sanjeev Suryavanshi himself was very fond of cricket, but due to financial and family reasons he could not play at the big level. He saw the unfulfilled dream in his son’s eyes. When Vaibhav was only 6 years old, Sanjeev had recognized the talent within him. To provide better training to his son, he traveled from a small village to the big plains of Samastipur.

Practice started from fields due to lack of field

There was a time when Vaibhav did not have good grounds to practice. Sanjeev Suryavanshi got the pitch prepared in his fields and himself started making his son practice for hours. Despite financial constraints, he never allowed any reduction in Vaibhav’s kit and diet. Sanjeev says that he invested his savings on Vaibhav’s training because he was sure that his son would one day bring glory to the country.

Ranji journey at the age of just 12

The result of his father’s discipline and Vaibhav’s hard work was that Vaibhav broke records at every stage of his age. At the age of just 12, he surprised everyone by making his Ranji debut for Bihar. His father remained with him in every match and even resorted to video analysis to correct his shortcomings.

Vaibhav’s aggressive style in the final

When in the final of Under-19 World Cup 2026 Vaibhav Suryavanshi Scored 175 runs with the help of 15 sixes and was named ‘Player of the Tournament’ His father had tears of joy in his eyes. Vaibhav also said after his victory that my father is my biggest coach and supporter. If they had not believed in me, I would not be here today.
