Fake messages in the name of State Bank, hackers are setting a ‘trap’ on WhatsApp!

What kind of traps are pages? According to SBI, visible SBI Yono logo above the message! It reads, “Dear SBI Customer, You are informed that your SBI YONO account will be blocked tonight. Your Aadhaar number is not updated with the account. We are sorry for this inconvenience. Please install our official SBI Aadhaar update APK and update Aadhaar there by submitting KYC.” A file extension is also visible at the end.

SBI has clarified that this is a completely fake message. And if you download that app, doom! Because the app is a ‘harmful’ app. So it will grab user’s personal information instantly. Along with this, State Bank also reminded that they never send such messages. Customers are never prompted to download any kind of app. So if any such message is received the sender should be blocked and the message should be reported. Apart from this, one can call the cyber crime helpline 1930 or lodge a complaint online. Remember, you need to be careful when you receive suspicious messages. Many times a number in the contact list is hacked and a fake message is sent asking for money. So in all these cases it is necessary to call that number directly without sending money.
