Earlier, India had scored 425 for 3 against Scotland on 16 February 2024 and 405 for 5 against Uganda on 22 January 2022. Also, the most successful run chase in the U-19 World Cup so far is 311 runs, which India set against Afghanistan in the recent semi-final.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s innings of 175 runs

India’s opener in the final match played at the Harare Sports Club on Friday Vaibhav Suryavanshiplayed an explosive innings. He scored a record knock of 175 runs off just 80 balls, in which he hit 15 fours and 15 sixes. Meanwhile, Vaibhav shared a partnership of 142 off 90 balls with captain Ayush Mhatre, while he added 89 off 39 balls with Vedant Trivedi. As a result, India set a target of 411 runs in front of England.
