Haryana News: Haryana government is going to take a big step towards making Gurugram an international level city. In-principle approval has been given to the proposal to build the country’s tallest building in the 1003-acre ‘Global City’ project being developed along the Dwarka Expressway. This project is considered to be the most ambitious urban development effort of Haryana so far.

The government will soon appoint an advisor to implement this mega project. For this, services of foreign companies and international level urban planning experts will be taken, so that the design, construction technology and safety standards of the building are of global level. The proposed skyscraper will be developed as the identity of the ‘Global City’.

Global city will develop as a modern urban model

The Global City of Gurugram will be developed on the basis of multi-modal connectivity, smart infrastructure, green zones, digital amenities and world-class urban planning. Here all the modern facilities to commercial, residential, institutional and entertainment will be made available in a single complex. The tallest building will be the iconic landmark of this entire project.

Investment, employment and tourism will get a boost

Government officials believe that becoming the tallest building in the country will increase the attraction of foreign investors and multinational companies. With this, new employment opportunities will be created and Gurugram will strengthen its identity as a global business hub. This project is also expected to bring huge benefits in the field of tourism.

Technical challenges due to proximity to airport

However, this ambitious plan also faces some challenges. The proposed site is relatively close to Indira Gandhi International Airport, hence it will be mandatory to obtain approval from DGCA and Airport Authority of India regarding the height of the building. Detailed technical studies will be conducted on aspects such as aviation safety, air traffic, lighting systems and maximum altitude.
