Bharat Taxi App Complete Guide: The Ministry of Cooperation of the Government of India has launched the country's first cooperative ride-hailing app, Bharat Taxi App. This app is operated by Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Ltd.  Until now, it was running as a pilot project in several states, including Delhi-NCR, but today, February 5, 2026, Union Minister Amit Shah launched it for the entire country.

What is Bharat Taxi App?
Bharat Taxi App is a platform based entirely on a cooperative model. This means that the drivers themselves run the app. It offers cab, auto, and bike taxi services. The government's goal is to ensure that both passengers and drivers benefit more, without any hefty commissions being deducted.

Drivers Receive Full Earnings
The biggest feature of this app is its zero-commission model. Here, drivers receive the full earnings from their rides. There is no surge pricing or hidden charges. Fares are fixed and transparent, which also builds trust among passengers.

How is it different from Ola and Uber?
While private taxi apps deduct up to 20-30% commission, Bharat Taxi initially does not charge any commission. Fares do not suddenly increase during peak hours. Drivers will also be provided with Rs. 5 lakh accident insurance and family health cover.

How to become a driver on Bharat Taxi App?
Becoming a driver on Bharat Taxi is very easy. You need to follow a few simple steps:

Download the app
First, download the 'Bharat Taxi Driver' app from the Play Store or App Store.

Register
Enter your mobile number in the app and verify it with an OTP.

Fill in the details
Enter your name, email, vehicle information, driving license, RC, and upload the necessary documents.

Verification
After this, your profile will be checked through DigiLocker and police verification.

Activation
Once approved, you can start taking rides.

Bharat Taxi also pays special attention to the safety of women. It offers features like the Bike Didi program, a female driver option for women passengers, an SOS button, live tracking, and a direct connection to the police. All drivers are police-verified.
