U19 World Cup 2026: Team India, captained by Ayush Mhatre, made everyone happy by winning the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2026 title on Friday. India won the trophy for a record sixth time by defeating England by 100 runs in the final match. After this historic victory, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash prize of Rs 7.5 crore for the Indian team that wins the Under-19 World Cup title.
Praising the team, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said that it is a matter of pride that the Indian Under-19 team remained undefeated in the tournament and defeated England in the final. He told that this award of Rs 7.5 crore is being given for the hard work and excellent performance of the players.

Speaking to ANI, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said, “The entire nation and BCCI are proud of India’s victory in the 2026 Under-19 World Cup. The way our team defeated England in the final and remained undefeated in the entire tournament, we all are proud of it. For this, BCCI will give a cash prize of Rs 7.5 crore to the team.”
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated the team and said, “India’s young cricket talent is shining! The team played brilliantly throughout the tournament and this victory will inspire many young players. Best wishes to the players for their future endeavours.”

In the final match played at Harare Sports Club in Zimbabwe, India won the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2026 title for the sixth time by defeating England by 100 runs. In this match, India batted first and scored a huge score of 411 for 9 wickets in 50 overs. From India, 14 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi played a stormy inning of 175 runs in just 80 balls with the help of 15 fours and 15 sixes. Captain Ayush Mhatre scored 53 runs in 51 balls, while Abhigyan Kundu played a quick inning of 40 runs in 31 balls.
England’s Caleb Falconer played a brilliant inning of 115 runs, but it proved difficult for India to achieve the team’s target of 412 runs. India hit 31 sixes in the final, which is a new record for the Under-19 ODI final.
With this victory, India has so far won the Under-19 World Cup in 2000, 2008, 2012, 2018 and 2022. At the same time, England did not get a chance to win its second title since 1998.
