Siddique began his career in cinema with 'Aa Neram Alpadhooram'. After appearing in multiple films in supporting roles, he grabbed eyeballs with 'In Harihar Nagar'. Released in 1990, the comedy thriller , featured Mukesh, Siddique, Jagadish and Ashokan in the lead roles. Siddique essayed the role of Govindan Kutty in the film. In his career spanning over 40 years, Siddique has donned numerous roles - the humorous ones, the heroes, the villains, you name it. Apart from Malayalam, Siddique has also worked in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi films.
Talking to us earlier, the actor said, “In cinema, I believe, it's the opportunities that shape you. In ‘In Harihar Nagar’, the makers envisioned me as Govindankutty, similarly with ‘Parava’ Soubin wanted to put me into the mould of a father. I might not have done a role similar to the dad from ‘Parava’, but Soubin might have seen me in something close. Sathyan Anthikad has once told me that a good actor is not the one who delivers dialogue flawlessly, but the one who doesn’t. I was puzzled. He told me that the dialogue should not come out as something that has been perfectly memorized, but the one came out on the spur of the moment. For that to happen, you have to behave like you are keenly listening to the character opposite to you and reacting to it in a natural way.”
What’s next for Siddique?Siddique is currently filming for ‘Aaram’, helmed by Rajeesh Parameswaran . The film features Saiju Kurup in the lead role. He plays a cop in the film. Along with Saiju Kurup and Siddique, the film also features Anju Kurian, Askar Ali, Sudhi Koppa, Shaheen Siddique, Dinesh Prabhakar, Gokulan, Manoj K.U., Vinod Kedamangalam, Eric Adam, Meera Vasudev, Surabhi Santhosh, Harith, Appunni Sasi, and Unni Lal in some key roles.
