The nights and mornings are finally starting to get lighter, but there’s no doubt winter is still here and bringing freezing temperatures with it every day. Trying to stay warm at night during the winter can be tricky, as most of us avoid leaving heating on overnight to keep energy bills down.

That’s why a cosy bedding set is a must-have during the colder months. To help keep costs down even more, Dunelm has slashed the price of its Soft & Cosy Luxury 100% Brushed Cotton Duvet Cover & Pillowcase Set to as low as £14, with shoppers saying it’s an “unbelievable low price”.

The Brushed Cotton Duvet Cover & Pillowcase Set comes in 12 different colours, with six of them currently discounted in the Dunelm winter sale. Shades like natural, blue, pink and white are all on sale, with single bedding sets slashed from £20 to £14, whilst superkings are down from £35 to £24.50, saving you £10.50.

Double and kingsize sets are also discounted, making now a great time to get your hands on them. Sets include a duvet cover and pillowcases (the single set includes one pillowcase), and each one is made from 60% recycled cotton and 40% Cotton with a cosy brushed finish.

The cotton makes sure not only are the Brushed Cotton Bedding Sets warm, but they’re breathable too, so you won’t get sweaty during the night. The covers fasten with a secure button closure to stop them moving around in the night, and are fully machine washable for easy care.

Similar styles are currently discounted at Marks & Spencer, where the Pure Brushed Cotton Bedding Set is now priced between £15.60 and £34, rather than £19.50 and £42.50 and comes in a huge 16 different colours. If you prefer a pattern, Next’s Natural Stripe Brushed Cotton Reversible Bedding Set is £32-£62 depending on which size you choose, with a classic stripe pattern that’s reversible.

If you don’t think brushed cotton is going to cut it when it comes to keeping you warm, a teddy-style material is known for being ultra cosy in cold temperatures. M&S ’ Teddy Fleece Bedding Set is now £12-£24 in multiple colours and made from Thermowarmth technology that provides cosy warmth without feeling heavy. George has also slashed the Charcoal Grey Plain Teddy Finish Duvet Set down to as little as £7.48.

However Dunelm shoppers are huge fans of the Brushed Cotton Bedding Sets, with one saying: “Very cosy and inviting, such a comforting winter duvet that I could not wait to get tucked into every night.”

Another agreed: “Great set, cosy and warm. Lovely colour. Easy to wash.”

One did warn: “Just be prepared for a lot of fluff when first washed. Very comfortable and warm though.”

And another complained: “Pillowcase stitching is below standards expected for the price. Unclear if they were going to be Oxford type like in image. They are not. After one wash they are not soft and cosy.”

However others loved the set, saying: “Absolutely brilliant comfort at an unbelievable low price . Love this cover.”

And adding: “Great for winter nights - cosy and comfortable. Amazing value for money.”
