Sunil Thapa passes away: Nepal’s well-known film actor Sunil Thapa died suddenly in Kathmandu on 7 February 2026. He was 68 years old, he was last seen in the series ‘The Family Man’. Thapa was a well-known actor of Nepali cinema and had worked in more than 300 films. He was recently seen in Raj and DK’s crime drama ‘The Family Man 3’. The news of his death is in the headlines, and his fans are curious to know the reason for his sudden death.

According to many reports, the cause of Sunil Thapa’s death is said to be heart attack. According to Rajendra Bahadur Singh, President of Norvik Hospital, Thapathali, Thapa was brought to the hospital in an unconscious state. ECG was done at 7:44 am, due to which his death was confirmed. Doctors suspect heart attack to be the cause of death. Speaking to The Post, he said, “When he was brought, he was unconscious. ECG was immediately done, which confirmed his death.”

Sunil Thapa’s career

Before entering films, Sunil Thapa started his career as a model in Mumbai in the 1970s and worked for many clothing brands. Apart from this, he also played football for Bombay Club. Apart from being a model and actor, Thapa also worked as a photojournalist and covered the coronation of Bhutan in 1974.
