Team India has made a winning start in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The host Indian team of the tournament has made a strong start to its title defense by defeating America by 29 runs. America had given trouble to Team India initially but Suryakumar Yadav’s captaincy innings destroyed its challenge.
When invited to bat first at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, India lost 6 wickets for 77 runs. From here Surya took the lead and played a memorable inning of 84 not out in 49 balls, taking the team to the score of 161/9. This was a challenging score for a team like America. Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh made it more difficult for America by taking 3 wickets in the first 4 overs. The American team could score only 132 runs after losing 8 wickets.
