Holi Special Trains: Now less than a month is left for the festival of Holi. On this occasion, people living across the country go to their villages, due to which a huge crowd of passengers is seen at the railway stations and they have to face many problems. For the convenience of passengers, Railways has decided to run more than 1,410 special trains this time. Apart from this, if required, the number of these trains can be increased to 1,500. According to Railways, these special trains will be run in the month of March. Whereas last year i.e. in 2025, Railways had run 1,144 special trains on the occasion of Holi, which was less as compared to this year.

How many special trains will run on which zone?

• Let us tell you that keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers, Railways has prepared the complete plan of all these trains according to the zone.
• According to Railways, maximum 285 Holi special trains will be operated by East Central Railway.
• Whereas 231 trains will be run by Western Railway and 108 trains will be run by Central Railway.
• Northern Railway will run 108 special trains, while North Western Railway will run 71 and North Central Railway will run 66 trains.
• The Railway Department has instructed North Eastern and East Coast Railways to run 62-62 special trains.
• Apart from this, South Western Railway Zone will run 47, Western Railway 43 and Southern Railway 39 Holi special trains.
• As per the instructions of the Railway Department, South East Central Railway will operate 15 trains, while Konkan Railway will operate 9 and North East Frontier Railway will operate 2 special trains.

Special trains will run for far-flung areas

Let us tell you that on the occasion of Holi, some special trains will be run by East Central Railway, which will cover long distance journeys. These trains include Sogaria-Danapur-Sogaria, Rani Kamalapati-Danapur-Rani Kamalapati-Agartala and Hapa-Naharlagun special trains. According to the information of the Railway Department, these trains will be operated in the last week of February and different dates in the month of March. The running of these trains will directly benefit lakhs of people going to Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and North-East India. At the same time, they will not need to change trains again and again.

Operation of weekly trains increased

In view of the huge crowd of passengers on the festival of Holi, North Western Railways has decided to extend the operating time of many weekly special trains till the end of March. These include important trains running from Bikaner-Sainagar Shirdi, Hisar-Khadki, Hisar-Valsad, Bhagat Ki Kothi-Bandra Terminus and Ajmer. With the operation of these weekly trains, travel on the routes of Rajasthan and Western India will become easier. Increasing the number of trains will provide relief from long waiting lists and it will be easier for passengers to get confirmed tickets.
