Recently, after America reduced the tariff, exporters have started negotiations with buyers. After the deal opens, orders worth about Rs 500 crore from the city will start reaching America in the next three months.

The city exports most of its products to America including leather, leather products, garments, hosiery, artificial jewelry and other products. This export business is around Rs 2500 crores. The city’s export business had almost stopped after the imposition of tariffs by America. Now, after America has reduced the tariff, when the deal is opened, the pending orders will be released first in a day or two.

These are orders that were halted due to higher taxes immediately after the tariffs were imposed. On the export business of the city, Assistant Director of Federation of Indian Export Organization, Alok Srivastava said that after reducing the tariff, the terms of the deal have also been released. In this way, the stalled export business from the city to America will be restarted.

After the 18 percent tariff imposed by America, the city’s products will be cheaper in America than in many countries. In such a situation, exporters will find it easier to sell in the US market after the break compared to exporters from other countries. At present, exporters are understanding the market situation considering the impact of the new tariff on production. It is believed that with this, exporters will get an advantage in getting new orders compared to exporters from other countries.

The exemption on tariffs from the US has been achieved immediately after the Union Budget. In such a situation, export experts believe that this time the exporters have got many exemptions in the Union Budget also. The benefits provided by the budget will also impact the prices of exported products. In this way, the exporters of the city will get the facility to offer their products at cheaper prices in the global market and especially in America amidst the cut-throat taxes. Apart from this, after evaluating the overall tax, exporters will be able to offer rates for new orders.

After the imposition of tariffs by America, India has signed trade agreements with many big countries. Among these, the agreement with the European Union is being considered as the ‘Mother of FTA’. In this situation, exporters who are looking for a new market have currently got a better market situation than before the tariffs imposed by America. In such a situation, export experts are assuming that in the coming time, the export business of the city will increase by about Rs 10 thousand crores. Among these, the recent trade agreement signed by India will play a big role.

There was special enthusiasm in the leather sector on Tuesday after the tariff relaxation given by America. Due to the decline in America’s export business for the last 6 months, the artisans working in this sector were facing the most problems. Due to low production, these artisans were continuously running out of work. Now the chances of these artisans getting work again in the industrial sector have increased considerably. Among these, especially the artisans working in the leather sector, who work on making thick stitches and designs on leather by hand instead of machines, are the most numerous.
