New Delhi, 7 February 2026: India’s dominance has once again been proved in junior cricket. In the final of the ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup 2026 played on Zimbabwean soil, India defeated England by 100 runs and won the title of World Champion for the record sixth time. After this historic victory, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a reward of Rs 7.5 crore, showering money on the players.

The real hero of India’s victory in the final match played in Harare was 14 year old young star Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Batting first, India scored a huge score of 411 runs in the stipulated overs. Vaibhav played an aggressive inning of 175 runs in just 80 balls, which included 15 fours and 15 sky-high sixes. Along with being the Player of the Match, he was also declared Player of the Series for scoring a total of 439 runs in the tournament.

Normally ICC does not give any financial reward at Under-19 level, but BCCI has maintained its tradition. Board Secretary Devjit Saikia had announced a prize of Rs 7.5 crore for the winning team on Saturday. This is the biggest reward ever given by BCCI at the Under-19 level. Earlier, Rs 5 crore was given to the Under-19 women’s team in 2025.
