New Delhi. ICC T-20 World Cup 2026 has started. Three matches will be played on the first day of the World Cup which started on Saturday. India will also play its first match against USA on February 7. As soon as the World Cup started, the Sri Lankan team has suffered a big blow. Ishan Malinga has been dropped from the Sri Lankan team and Pramod Madushan has been included in the team. Ishan Malinga has been dropped from the World Cup 2026 squad due to a shoulder injury. Sri Lanka will play its first match against Ireland on Sunday, February 8.

Sri Lankan fast bowler 25-year-old Ishan Malinga was playing the T20 series against England just before the World Cup. During this time his shoulder was injured. Despite the injury, he was included in the T-20 World Cup squad, but due to not being able to recover from the injury, he was dropped from the team. In his place, Pramod Madushan has got a place in the team. They have also been approved by the Event Technical Committee.
