News India Live, Digital Desk: The path to T20 World Cup 2026 was not easy for Team India’s ace batsman Ishan Kishan. Today, when he is preparing to take the field to represent the country in the opening match of the World Cup, his father Pranav Kumar Pandey, present in Patna, remembered those difficult days when Ishaan’s career was hanging in the balance. “The journey to return to the team was out of syllabus.” Ishaan’s father said an interesting thing while talking to News 18. He told that Ishaan’s re-selection in the team was like an ‘out of syllabus’ question for him. There was a time when Ishaan was thrown out of BCCI’s Central Contract and his hopes of comeback seemed to be fading. Father’s struggle and Ishaan’s stubbornness. Pranab Pandey said that the last two years were no less than a litmus test for Ishaan. Ishaan not only worked on his technique but also made himself mentally strong. His father said, “There was a time when people were raising questions, but Ishaan never gave up. His selection is the result of his hard work and God’s blessings.” Now only one dream: “The World Cup trophy should be in the hands of the son.” Like every father, Pranav Pandey also has only one dream now. He wants India to win this T20 World Cup of 2026 and Ishaan should become the hero of that victory. He said emotionally, “I want to see Ishaan become a part of the world-winning team. To see him lifting the trophy, that’s my last wish.” With Bumrah’s exclusion, responsibility has increased on Ishaan. Amidst the news of Jasprit Bumrah being out due to viral fever, the pressure on the batting department has increased. Ishan Kishan may possibly get the responsibility of opening with Abhishek Sharma. Fans are hopeful that Ishaan, popularly known as ‘Pocket Dynamite’, will make a bang today to fulfill his father’s dream.
