The Indian government has launched Bharat Taxi, the country's first cooperative ride-hailing app, under the Ministry of Cooperation. The app was launched on January 5th by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah.

Today, ride-hailing apps have become a common necessity. People use services like Ola and Uber, and many also earn a good livelihood as drivers. However, it has often been observed that drivers on these platforms face heavy commission deductions, preventing them from receiving the full benefit of their earnings.  Keeping this problem in mind, the Indian government, under the Ministry of Cooperation, launched Bharat Taxi, the country's first cooperative ride-hailing app. The app was launched on January 5th by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah. Initially, it was run as a pilot project in Delhi-NCR and some other states, but now it has been launched nationwide. What is Bharat Taxi?

Bharat Taxi is operated through Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited. This organization is registered under the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act, 2002. The aim of this app is to increase employment opportunities, provide economic and social security to drivers, and empower drivers by giving them the role of owners, not just employees. In this app, drivers are called "Sarthi" (meaning charioteer), and they are at the center of the entire system.

How to register your vehicle with Bharat Taxi?

1. If you also want to drive your car with Bharat Taxi, the process is very simple. First, download the Bharat Taxi Driver app from the Google Play Store or Apple Store.

2. Then, enter your mobile number and verify it with an OTP.

3. Now, upload your name, email, vehicle details, driving license, RC (Registration Certificate), and other necessary documents.

4. Your profile will then be checked through DigiLocker and police verification. 5. After receiving approval, you can immediately start taking rides on the Bharat Taxi app.

How much can you earn in 30 days?

If you drive your car on Bharat Taxi and earn an average of ₹10,000 per day, your total earnings in 30 days will be approximately ₹3,00,000. Of this, 80 percent will go directly into the driver's bank account, and the remaining 20 percent will go towards app operations and the cooperative fund, but the driver will also benefit from this. This means approximately ₹2.4 lakh will go directly into your pocket every month, along with benefits such as social security insurance and a retirement fund.
