New Zealand was already struggling, losing two back-to-back wickets off Mujeeb-ur-Rahman, when the pressure fell on Glenn Phillips and opener Tim Siefert. The duo made a partnership of 74 runs before the ace spinner of Afghanistan, Rashid Khan, ended the Phillips show.
On February 9, at the Chepauk Stadium at Chennai, Afghanistan is facing New Zealand in the first slot of the Group Stage games, which is from 11 am. There, Rashid Khan was in the 10th over when he returned for a new spell. He delivered a very full ball around the off stump as Phillips tried to make room for a loft shot over the covers. However, he tried too hard on this and lost shape eventually. He got a thick under-edge, and the ball crashed into the base of the off-stump.
But what became the spectacle was Rashid Khan's aggression when he almost turned to the leaving- Phillips celebrating aggressively.
