New Delhi. Famous singer Brad Arnold, who gave a new identity to rock music, passed away on Saturday. He breathed his last at the age of 47. His outspoken singing and unique voice left a deep impression on the hearts of the youth of that era. Famous singer Brad Arnold, lead singer of the Grammy nominated band ‘3 Doors Down’, had revealed a few months ago that he is battling stage 4 kidney cancer. The band has issued an official statement confirming his demise, causing a wave of mourning in the music world.

The band said in a statement that ‘Brad Arnold breathed his last while bravely fighting a serious disease like cancer. While sleeping, he said goodbye to the world peacefully among his loved ones. The journey of the band 3 Doors Down started in 1995 from Mississippi, but they got real recognition from their superhit song Kryptonite which came in the year 1999.
This song was such a hit that it took the band to a Grammy nomination. Interestingly, Brad had written this song on a paper during his maths class at the age of just 15. Their first album, The Better Life, broke all success records and sold more than 6 million copies. After this, the band received a second Grammy nomination for the song When I’m Gone in 2003, which forever cemented their place in the world of rock music.
Recalling the influence of Brad Arnold, the band said that he had given a new identity to rock music. His specialty was that he used to write heart touching things in very simple and straightforward words, with which the common man felt connected. He played a big role in bringing post-grunge music to every household.

During their illustrious career, 3 Doors Down released a total of six studio albums, the last of which was 2016’s ‘Us and the Night’. Many of his songs like ‘Loser’, ‘Duck and Run’ and Be Like That were chartbusters. Especially the song Be Like That was also a part of the soundtrack of the famous 2001 film ‘American Pie 2’, which fans still listen to with great interest.
