1. Chocolate Barfi
If you love traditional Indian sweets, but want to try something new this time, then chocolate barfi is perfect. It looks like Mawa Barfi, but the taste of chocolate makes it even more delicious.
How to make?
- 1 cup mawa (khoya) in a non-stick pan,
- 2-3 tbsp cocoa powder (or chocolate powder)
- Add ½ cup sugar and a little milk and cook on low flame.
- Keep stirring continuously so that the mixture does not burn and thickens well.
- When the mixture starts leaving the sides of the pan and starts thickening and coming together, turn off the flame.
- After it cools down a bit, spread it in a greased plate, add some chopped almonds or cashews on top and press it.
- Once completely cooled, cut into square pieces.
This barfi is slightly crispy from outside and soft from inside. A wonderful combination of the taste of traditional sweets and the sweetness of chocolate – both kids and adults will love it.
2. No-Bake Chocolate Cake
What if there is no oven? You can make super soft and creamy chocolate cake at home. This cake is like a layered biscuit cake and is very easy to make.
How to make?
- First of all, crush 200-250 grams of chocolate biscuits (like Parle-G, Marie or Oreo) well.
- Melt 100-150 grams of dark or milk chocolate (in the microwave or in a double boiler)
- Add ½ cup fresh cream or condensed milk and mix well.
- Now make layers in a bowl or cake tin – first biscuit crumb, then chocolate mixture, then again biscuit crumb… make 3-4 layers like this.
- Decorate the last layer with chocolate ganache or chocolate chips.
- Keep it in the fridge to set for 4-5 hours

3. Chocolate Truffles
Truffles look very premium and making them is also fun for children. These are small round balls, which melt as soon as they are put in the mouth.
How to make?
- Melt 200 grams dark chocolate with ½ cup fresh cream (in a double boiler).
- Mix well and let it cool (you can keep it in the fridge for 1-2 hours)
- Now make small balls of the cooled mixture with your hands.
- Roll them in cocoa powder, chocolate sprinkles, coconut flakes or crushed biscuits
- Then keep it in the fridge for 30 minutes to set
These truffles are great for gifting on Chocolate Day. You can surprise them by filling them in a small jar and tying a ribbon.
4. Chocolate Fudge
Fudge is the most popular and easy dessert of Chocolate Day. It is very rich, soft and full of chocolate.
How to make?
- Melt 200g dark chocolate and 1 can condensed milk slowly in a double boiler.
- Keep stirring occasionally so that it mixes well.
- When the mixture becomes thick, add chopped dry fruits (almonds, cashews, raisins) to it.
- Spread it in a greased tray and let it set in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours
- When set, cut into small pieces
- This fudge melts in the mouth and is liked by people of all ages.
5. Chocolate Laddus
These laddus are very good for children because they also contain energy.
How to make?
- 1 cup roasted gram flour or crushed biscuit powder
- Add 2-3 tablespoons cocoa powder, ½ cup powdered sugar and ¼ cup ghee and knead it well.
- If the mixture seems dry then add some milk or condensed milk.
- Now make small laddus and decorate them with chocolate chips or sprinkles.
- These laddus are crispy from outside and soft from inside.
6. No-Bake Chocolate Brownies
For brownie lovers, soft and chewy brownies can be made even without a special oven.
How to make?
- Make a thick batter by mixing 2 cups crushed biscuit powder, 3 tbsp cocoa powder, ½ cup condensed milk and 2-3 tbsp butter.
- Put it in a greased pan or pressure cooker (without whistle)
- Close the lid and cook on low flame for 20-25 minutes.
- Once cooled, cut and serve
