dream of traveling abroad

Everyone dreams of traveling abroad. You may also be wondering when to travel to another country. However, going abroad is not possible for everyone, as it requires substantial funds. Many people are not able to go abroad due to budget, while some do not get leave from office. The visa process is also difficult at times. If you are planning to visit Singapore, this article will provide important information for you.

New rules for visiting Singapore

Recently, the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) of Singapore has announced the implementation of new rules from 30 January 2026. Pre-departure check has been made mandatory for all international flights arriving at Changi and Seletar Airport. This means you now have to clear immigration before your flight.

investigation process

Information about all passengers will be sent to the airline in advance. This test can be done in two ways:

– flight manifest

– SG Arrival Card (Singapore Arrival Card)

If any discrepancy is found during the check, a No Boarding message will be immediately sent to the airline, and you will not be allowed to board the flight. In some cases additional verification may also be done at the time of check-in.

Who wouldn’t get a chance to board a flight?

– Those who do not have a valid Singapore visa.

– If the validity of your passport is less than 6 months.

– SG Arrival Card has not been filled correctly or incorrect information has been given.

– If you have any previous negative immigration or security record.

In these situations, you will not be allowed to board the flight.

Difference between the rules before and now

Previously, when passengers arrived in Singapore, they were stopped at the immigration counter. Now this process will be completed even before the flight. If anyone does not follow the rules, the airline can be fined up to Singapore dollars 10,000. Apart from this, action will also be taken against the staff.

What to do if boarding is stopped?

If you are not allowed to board the flight, you can contact ICA through its official feedback channel and clarify your situation.

things to keep in mind

– Passport validity should be at least 6 months.

– Must have valid Singapore visa.

– Fill the SG Arrival Card on time and correctly.

– Double check all documents before the flight.

– Also, pay attention to e-mails and messages from the airline.
