Jagdalpur, 9 February 2026: “Bastar Pandum 2026” emerged as a grand celebration of Bastar’s traditions, its tribal identity and folk culture. This was not only a cultural event, but also a direct example of the government's commitment to tribal protection and sensitive administration. The closing ceremony held at Lal Bagh ground attracted the attention of the entire country towards the glorious heritage of Bastar. The visionary thinking and cultural renaissance initiative of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai inspired the administration to save the traditions from getting lost in the flow of time. In this event, traditional dance, folk songs, tribal costumes, food and crafts were presented completely in their original form. This was the biggest achievement of this festival.

Bastar Pandum 2026: Winners received awards

Sukma district administration showed excellent coordination and sensitivity in this event. The artists of the district brought alive the spirit of Bastar on the stage. Gunjan Nag and Kiran Nag, residents of Kinderwada of Chhindgarh development block, brought pride to Sukma and entire Bastar by securing first place in the tribal costume competition. On this achievement, the country's Home Minister Shri Amit Shah and Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai presented memento and incentive check of Rs 50,000 to the artists. This shows the respect and confidence of the government towards the artists.

The participation of 69 artistes across 12 different genres from Sukma district proved that the platform and opportunities provided by the administration can take tribal talents to new heights.
