The A19 is closed in both directions after a serious crash killed a man in his 50s near Middlesbrough on Monday morning. It's been shut off between the A1027 and the A1046 following the collision shortly after 7am, which killed the pedestrian.
Cleveland emergency services are in attendance, with police carrying out an investigation. National Highways Traffic Officers are also assisting with traffic management, and plans are being made to release traffic caught within the closure. However, the road is expected to be closed for several hours while work is carried out.
