PTC News Desk: An Indian-origin IT professional was shot dead by unidentified men in his car parked in a parking of a shopping mall in Canada's Toronto.
The victim hailed from Thyamagondlu in Nelamangala on the outskirts of Bengaluru.
The parents of an Indian IT professional who was shot dead in Canada said they had repeatedly urged their son to return home, but he chose to stay abroad.
Chandan Kumar’s family is devastated after he was fatally shot in Toronto. His parents suspect that his involvement in forming a Kannada community group in the city may have played a role in the incident. His father, Nanda Kumar, has appealed to the Government of India for assistance in bringing his son’s body back home so that the last rites can be performed in the country.
Chandan’s mother also claimed that his efforts to establish a Kannada association in Toronto might have been linked to the attack. According to reports, he succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. Police officials believe the shooting was a targeted attack.
