New Delhi: Delhi Capitals (DC) have roped in England great Ian Bell as an assistant coach ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. Bell, who is one of England’s best batters of all time, has been working as a coach post his retirement from cricket. His stint at Delhi Capitals will mark his first assignment in the IPL.
Delhi Capitals took to social media on Tuesday to announce Bell’s arrival in their backroom staff for IPL 2026. DC already have a strong coaching setup led by head coach Hemang Badani. Former England captain Kevin Pietersen serves as the mentor of the franchise, while former India pacer Munaf Patel is the bowling coach of the team.
Former Australian first-class cricketer Mathew Mott is an assistant coach with the franchise, while Anton Ruxx and Ganeswara Rao are the fielding coaches. Bell, who has extensive coaching experience, will join the setup as an assistant coach and will look to guide the DC batters in the new season.
