French President Emmanuel Macron will pay an official visit to India at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where he will participate in the first global AI summit, AI Impact Summit, to be held in New Delhi. The summit is the first AI summit to be held in the Global South and will highlight the importance of collaboration between the two countries in emerging and critical technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI). According to the Ministry of External Affairs of India, this visit of President Macron will take place from 17 to 19 February.
Important discussion towards further strengthening India-France relations
During this visit, Prime Minister Modi and President Macron Horizon 2047 Roadmap Under this, there will be comprehensive discussions to further strengthen bilateral cooperation. This roadmap outlines the long-term vision for the India-France strategic partnership. Apart from this, both the leaders were in Mumbai. India-France Year of Innovation 2026 which will be celebrated throughout the year in both the countries and aims to promote deeper cooperation in innovation, technology, research and people-to-people exchanges.
Discussion on Indo-Pacific and other global issues
Prime Minister Modi and President Macron will also exchange views on key regional and global issues of mutual interest, including cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region. The meeting reflects the growing strategic partnership between the two countries, the Ministry of External Affairs noted in its statement. According to the Ministry of External Affairs statement, “This visit follows the visit of Prime Minister Modi to France in February 2025 and reflects the mutual trust and deep ties in the India-France Strategic Partnership, as well as the shared commitment of both countries to further deepen this partnership.”
AI Impact Summit organized in India
