Kathmandu. A passenger bus going from Kathmandu to Okhaldhunga fell into the Tamakoshi river on Tuesday afternoon. So far nine people have died in this accident.
Chief District Officer of Ramechhap, Shyam Krishna Thapa said that the Bagmati Pradesh bus fell into the river at Triveni Ghat located in Manthali Municipality of Ramechhap district. This bus had left from Kathmandu with eight passengers, but at the time of the accident there were about 17 people on board, including those traveling without tickets.
Six passengers died on the spot, while three died on the way to the hospital. He said that divers of the Armed Police Force and rescue teams of the local disaster management unit are busy searching for other people who have fallen into the river.
