Ladki Bahin Yojana e-KYC: Neither the portal is working nor the helpline is helping, how will eKYC be done?
Indiaemploymentnews | February 10, 2026 10:40 PM CST

When will the money from the Ladki Bahin Yojana finally arrive? Nearly 25 million women in Maharashtra have been wanting to know the answer to this question for a long time. But the wait is only getting longer. Meanwhile, the portal for the Ladki Bahin Yojana has been reopened for corrections in e-KYC, but the problems of women are not ending. The portal has been opened until March 31, 2026, to correct errors in e-KYC. However, neither the portal is working properly nor is the helpline providing any help.

When Sarita, a beneficiary from Paud village in Pune district, was spoken to, she said, "I haven't received my money for the last four months. I was told that my eKYC was incomplete. Now the portal has opened, but I can't log in." This problem isn't unique to Sarita; many other women are facing it. Another woman, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said she hasn't received her money for two months. They say the government should appoint officers at the district level to address this issue.

Verification by Anganwadi Workers Also Stopped
The online portal for the Chief Minister's Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana is not opening, and the problem is compounded by the fact that the Anganwadi workers who were conducting the physical verification have also been shut down. Field staff are protesting due to the increased workload. Consequently, the portal is the only option left for beneficiaries of the Chief Minister's Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana.

Ladki Bahin Yojana eKYC Correction Date Extended
Last week, Maharashtra's Women and Child Development Minister, Aditi Tatkare, posted that the department had received complaints that beneficiaries were not receiving their funds because incorrect options were selected in the eKYC process. To provide these beneficiaries with another opportunity, the portal has been opened for eKYC corrections. Beneficiary women can make corrections to their eKYC until March 31.

When will the January-February installment of the Ladki Bahin Yojana arrive?
The Women and Child Development Department states that its primary goal is to ensure that all eligible women receive the benefits of the scheme. Officials explained that the January and February installments of the Ladki Bahin Yojana are currently pending due to the Model Code of Conduct. Maharashtra's budget is due next month, and women are worried that the Ladki Bahin Yojana will be discontinued. However, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde recently stated that the Ladki Bahin Yojana amount will soon be increased from ₹1,500 to ₹2,100. This claim comes at a time when the state government is already burdened with debt due to welfare schemes.

What if eKYC corrections are not completed by March 31st?
Officials state that the eKYC correction process will continue until March 31st. Women who fail to complete the process will be verified later. In fact, due to an incorrect answer to a question in eKYC, 2.4 million beneficiaries were shown as government employees. As a result, the monthly ₹1,500 benefit was withheld.
