The disappearance of two Japanese tourists in Jaipur has been confirmed by multiple reliable Indian news sources, including Hindustan Times, Zee News, ETV Bharat, The Tribune and Bhaskar English, all reporting on February 10, 2026.

Jaipur, February 10, 2026 – Two 25-year-old Japanese nationals, Yuma Toyoda and Hibiki Shiba, have been missing since Saturday night, when a regular dinner outing turned mysterious.

Both of them came to Delhi from Japan on February 6 and reached Jaipur the next day, checked into a hotel in Brahmapuri. On the evening of 7 February, he hired a taxi to have dinner at a nearby fast-food outlet in Ashok Nagar, and left his bags (containing passport and documents) with the driver.

The restaurant’s CCTV shows that they walked in, stayed for only five minutes without ordering or talking to anyone, and then left. The taxi driver waited outside for about two hours before checking in and learning that they were gone. They never returned to the car or hotel, and their phones are also switched off.

The driver reported the matter to the police on February 8. After waiting for 24 hours for him to return of his own free will, a missing report was lodged at the Ashok Nagar police station on Monday night. Inspector Moti Lal confirmed the timeline and said that officials have checked the CCTVs of the hotel, restaurant and surrounding areas, but no clear clue was found about their movements after coming out.

Police are scanning more footage and coordinating with the Foreign Ministry to contact families in Japan and get more information. The tourists were on six-day visas which were expiring on Thursday, which has increased the urgency.

No evidence of wrongdoing has been found, although possibilities remain. The search continues amid concerns over the safety of young visitors to the popular tourist town.
