Initially it seemed to be a case of suicide as there were no external injuries or signs of struggle and the police found a plastic bottle with traces of poison and some glasses. But in this case, after the arrest of Baba, all the layers were revealed.

Who is the accused Baba Kamaruddin?

The accused Baba has been identified as Kamaruddin, a resident of Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, who ran a 'Tantric Centre' in Loni, Ghaziabad. Police said he allegedly killed the three as part of a well-planned conspiracy to earn money. He lured the victims into a trap of wealth through tantric rituals.

Who are the three deceased?

On Sunday, passersby informed the police about three people lying unconscious inside a parked white Tigor car around 3:50 pm. The car belonged to 76-year-old Randhir, who was found dead in the driver's seat, and 47-year-old property dealer Shiv Naresh was in the front seat. A 40-year-old woman named Lakshmi was found dead in the back seat of the car. Investigators had said that both the men were residents of Baprola village and knew each other. But they were not able to connect them with the woman, who later turned out to be a resident of Jahangirpuri and worked as a caregiver in West Delhi. Police said she knew Shiv Naresh, a 47-year-old property dealer.

Investigation and arrest of Baba

Police said that as soon as the investigation into the case started, the police arrested 5 people including Kamaruddin. According to the police, during the inspection of the vehicle, liquor-cold drink bottles, empty glasses, mobile phones, cash, helmet, jacket, Aadhaar card, personal belongings and many other documents were found. Based on investigation, police found out that the trio had gone to Loni a day before the incident and were in constant touch with Kamaruddin, who was accompanying them in the car from Loni and left the car near Peeragrahi flyover, where all three were found dead on Sunday.

Poison was mixed in laddus

Kamaruddin had lured all three on the pretext of sudden rain of wealth through tantric rituals. Police said, he used to win the trust of the victims and influence them mentally. It was revealed that Lakshmi was introduced to Kamaruddin by a man named Salim, who is from Jangirpuri and Lakshmi in turn introduced Naresh and Randhir to Baba. According to the police, he convinced them to perform puja for Dhanvarsha and asked them to bring Rs 2 lakh in cash along with liquor and cold drinks. Confessing to his crime, Kamaruddin told the police that he prepared poisoned laddus and took the three in the car and fed them laddus along with liquor and cold drinks. When all three became unconscious, he snatched the cash and ran away leaving the car.
