There's great news for WhatsApp Web users. The company is soon rolling out voice and video calling for its convenience. This feature has been long-awaited. Currently, it's available to some beta users and may reach other users in the coming days. This update also adds end-to-end encrypted calls and screen-sharing support to WhatsApp Web. All these features are already available on the Windows and Mac desktop apps. Until now, WhatsApp Web allowed users to send text messages and share media, while voice and video calling were limited to the desktop app.

Your work will be done without downloading the app.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, voice and video calling have been launched on WhatsApp Web. This feature has been in the works for almost a year and is currently limited to one-to-one chats. This feature is designed to allow users to make calls from their browser without installing the desktop app.

This calling feature is available to select users enrolled in the WhatsApp Web beta program and is expected to roll out to other users soon. Users can initiate a call by opening a chat and tapping the call button in the top right.

Your WhatsApp Calls Will Be End-to-End Encrypted
Calls made on WhatsApp Web are reportedly end-to-end encrypted, just like on the Android, iOS, and desktop apps. These calls are secured using the Signal protocol, which WhatsApp has been using for messages, calls, and status updates since 2016.
